Reflection on Dot Painting

The way this piece of art started was when Aunty Sally came to show us her paintings and how she painted them. Then we posed and Mrs Vincent took our photos. Then we had to colour in the negative space. then we painted the background and after that we started painting. Once we finished the positive space we started dotting. Overall it was a really enjoyable expierience!

In term two we painted self portraits of ourselves in the style of Aunty Sally who painter a ppicture and then did Aborigional dotting (Shown Above) around the image.

The image I chose to paint myself as was me with one ifnger on my face with my other arm crossed.

I enjoyed painting this because it taught me to be more paitent especially with the dotting because it was a long and slightly painful process (withalot of armaches) but in the end it was very rewarding with the finished painting turning out well.

Analogous colours- Analogous colours are the colours that are near or next to each other on the colour wheel.

Texture- Texture is the serface quality eg. smooth or rough. Texture can also be simulated
which gives the illusion of texture.

Space- Positive shape is the same as Positive Space. Positive space is the object itself and Negative space is the space around the positive space.

Andy Worhol is my favorite artist because of the Pop Art like the Mickey Mouse, and because of the cambell's tomato soup poieces he does.

Aunty Sally

These past few weeks we have had Aunty Sally in and she has been showing us figure painting. Firstly she painted Stephanie Rutherford and then she painted me and in the painting of me she used dot art. It looked really good.
